expression from the inside out + a glorious Soul Flower purse GIVEAWAY

One Sweet World Repurposed Bag

After six years of searching for the perfect design, I finally got my fifth tattoo.
When I decided I wanted another one, I knew I wanted something beautiful, elegant, unique and fun... like me, right? Hee hee!! I've always loved the mehndi designs used for henna tattooing but I've never wanted to get henna because I feel it's too beautiful to be temporary.

I've always felt that something that beautiful should be permanent.

Getting this tattoo wasn't just about getting something cool branded on my arm, it was about my undying need for self-expression. Often times on the inside I feel beautiful, vibrant and confident and know I'm a unique person. Everyday, the clothes I wear and the accessories I choose display the way I feel inside.
Outward self expression is very important for me and everyone because not only does it make you feel good, it frees you from the weight of your own desires little by little. Your inward dreams and visions burst forth everyday in the form of fashion, tattoos, dance, art, prose and poetry.
One Sweet World Repurposed Bag
I NEED to express myself. I feel that I will explode if I don't for I am just full to the brim with visions of loveliness.
Much can even be said about me with something so simple as a purse. I am a frugal person who hates waste and loves beautiful things. This fair trade purse, handmade in Cambodia from a cement bag is a perfect representation of just that.

The One Sweet World re-purposed purse from Soul Flower is as simple as life should be and is also as clever as the skilled hands that made it. It was the perfect addition to my outfit on this special day.

So tell me, friends. How do you like to express yourself?
Tattoos? Art? Fashion? All of the above?

  1. I express myself through my home. I love to do floral arrangments, make wreaths for the front doors. I enjoy interior design (although I have no training) so I love to bargain hunt and thrift to find the perfect piece that makes a room "speak" to me. I love your style, I think it works well for you and you look so happy :)

  2. All my life, my mother told me to not be afraid to express yourself. That is something I tell both of my daughters. My mother was born in a "proper hush hush" family. They had to have a certain haircut and act..like a robot. That was the 1940s. My mother met my father in the mid 60s and thank Goddess her inner self finally came out. She had never felt so free. How she dressed. How she talked. She raised my brother and I to always express ourselves. Today how I dress to my tattoos... My daughters live by that rule now. I cannot be any happier!! ❤❤

  6. I express myself through my not age appropriate dressing. Too much jewelry, red, red hair, no beige or cropped pants. And my home, which is a mix of thrift shop/vintage/boho. A big jumble of awesome

  9. That is the most adorable purse I have ever seen. Not only is it soft and washable. It is repurposed and my favorite part is...it is elephants!

  10. Cute purse - elephants are my favorite animal. My everyday form of expression is through makeup - black liner, purple shadow, lipstick in a town of pale lips. I've been trying to make more clothes so I'm not stuck in the same old tees and jeans that everyone wears. If I ever get a job there will be tattoos.

  11. I express myself through my tattoos, 14 and counting. I'm always changing my hair which is a fun side of me. Clothing and jewelry are a huge way I express myself on a given day, whether it's just jeans and an animal rights tee or a dress with layers I'd boho jewelry and my tall boots, my mood is expressed through my look. I also express through words, there are many topics I feel very strongly about, I'm always careful to be respectful but firm, I never preach my views but I'll gladly educate someone who is listening.
