Swagbucks. Have you heard of it? With its ever growing popularity you probably already have. But do you know what it is? No? Well I'll tell you, or rather, here's how they put it in their own words:

"Swagbucks.com allows web and mobile members to earn virtual currency (called Swag Bucks) for doing what they already do online every day- watching videos, searching the web, playing games, participating in market research and shopping online. Swag Bucks can then be redeemed for valuable rewards, including gift cards to the world's online and offline retailers. Since its launch in 2008, Swagbucks has awarded more than $45 million in real life rewards."

Sounds too good to be true right? Well trust me, it's good AND true!
Dig it: I started Swagbucks three months ago and I get about $30 in gift cards every month. I like to cash in my points for Amazon gift cards because you can cash in only 500 points (AKA "swagbucks") for a $5 gift card. I use the $5 cards for used books and DVDs.
Next up from the $5 card is the $15 card for 1,500 swagbucks. I like to get those for eBay gift cards and stock up on 99cent jewelry!

So let's get to the MYTHS and TRUTHS part, shall we?

MYTH
Swagbucks requires you to sign up for offers using your credit card and personal information.

TRUTH
There are some swagbuck-making offers from companies that require you to submit your credit card and personal info, especially if you're signing up for a free trial of something like a magazine or makeup subscriptions. If you're not comfortable taking those offers then don't!!

MYTH
Swagbucks is very time-consuming and not worth the effort.

TRUTH
While the kiddos are down for a nap, you can earn over 200 swagbucks from taking just ONE survey a day.

MYTH
Swagbucks is for kids.

TRUTH
Don't let the name fool you. Swagbucks is mostly for adults. In fact you must be over 18 to participate in those nifty little surveys that pay out so much. It's especially great for stay at home mom's and dads (and insomniacs) who would like to add a little extra spending money to the pot.

MYTH
Swagbucks is difficult to use.

TRUTH
Not at all! It only takes a few minutes to get set up and start earning points. And really, the whole site it pretty self explanatory.

And now before I go, let me give you some HELPFUL TIPS that can make using Swagbucks an awesome experience for you.

1. Survey's are the best way to earn points.

2. Only take surveys when you have absolute free time like when the kids are napping or gone to bed for the night or on your lunch break. Distracted behavior will cause the survey to end automatically and you'll get NOTHING for your time.

3. On the Swagbucks home screen, look for the two characters known as "The Laptop Guy" and "Tank Top Girl". Some offers are good only once for a set amount of swagbucks, but these are offers that allow you repeat actions over and over for multiple sets of Swagbucks. This is an easy easy to rack up points but heads up! They're not always there and they don't stay for long so when you see then, jump on the offer!

4. Join the "Swagbuck Swaggernauts" Facebook group page for help and tip-offs about where to find the mega-swagbucks.

5. Get your friends and family to join and you can earn 10% of the points they make!! Click on "Refer Friends" on the top blue toolbar of the site.

Alright, my friends. Now I'm off to go earn some more swagbucks! I'm already saving up for Christmas gifts!
Bye! Have fun!
