There are hundreds of different types of hair; curly, kinky, straight, thick, thin, wavy, dry, oily, shiny, dull, combo and everything in between....And often times that "everything in between" comes from mixing races. Mixed hair (black and other) comes in many different forms but one thing usually stays pretty consistent - it is VERY curly and can be rather frustrating to work with.
My husband is white with brown hair that falls in gorgeous loose curls. My natural hair is jet black and so dense and tightly coiled I can't even comb through it (that's why I use a permanent relaxer).
We have two children and the hair results are very interesting.
Our 11 month old daughter has silky blonde hair with hardly a curl (see the pics!) but our two year old son has my coiled hair but it's a little more relaxed with a smoother texture. I'm letting his hair grow out but the longer it gets the harder it becomes to manage. Long gone are the days of his baby soft curls and now I'm looking at a big fuzzy mess. Like most mixed children, he needs good conditioning and moisture but everything I have already have is too harsh for his young skin and causes breakouts and rashes. He needs something mild but effective and just for children. Mixed children to be specific. Hee hee!
