When I ordered this tassel trim from eBay for a dollar a yard, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it... I just knew I wanted it. After a quick search about the house trying to figure out where it should go, I decided to jazz up this plain ugly lamp in the corner of the living room.
The trim I used is an electric melon color and is very, very eye catching. I'm not a fan of neon but I'm just plumb crazy about this color for some weird reason.
A little bit about the lamp: I rescued this vintage lamp shade years ago from a houseful of college guys who were all in the middle of moving out. The poor thing was about to make its way to the trash so I snatched it up and put it on a bare lamp stand at my then boyfriend's (now husband) home. We've had this weird lamp every since.
I had gotten so used to looking at it that it kind of became a part of the wall... all bland and stuff.
▲▲ What I Did ▲▲
Shooed the kids off to their play room
Hot glued about 1-1/4 yards of trim to the lamp
Sat back and thought, "wow, that was easy."
Congratulated myself with a cupcake
